Global Nonviolent Film Festival
Global Nonviolent Film Festival
Global Nonviolent Film Festival has showcased and awarded films that do not contain gratuitous violence since 2012. With over a decade of impact, the event is considered the most important and renowned nonviolent film festival in the world, and it has become a cornerstone in its niche, celebrating artistry that fosters peace and understanding.
The festival began as a grassroots movement in 2012, and it has grown organically to become recognized and loved worldwide for showcasing content that is not only free of gratuitous violence but also nonpolitical. The curated lineup of films and documentaries presents stories from various countries around the world that would otherwise remain unseen or unheard.
The festival’s global audience is made up of sophisticated viewers who are particular in their selection of content that entertains, inspires, informs, and elevates their knowledge and cultural spectrum. This audience seeks diverse cultures and artistic expressions. As a result, the event showcases a rich tapestry of films and documentaries that reflect the world's vibrant reality.
The Global Nonviolent Film Festival is broadcast on the streaming channel GlobalCinema.online, and it provides a unique platform for a multinational audience from 188 countries to engage with meaningful, nonviolent narratives.
Once the festival ends, the films that have competed receive a distribution contract proposal from GlobalCinema.online which gives the producers the opportunity to have their work become a part of the channel's regular and curated catalog of films that is available in streaming on a VOD basis.
DURING THE FESTIVAL
▪ A panel of five international jury members elects the winners in each category for the following merits: best film, director, cinematographer, actor (male and female), art designer, screenplay writer, editor, and music composer;
▪ The selected films are showcased during the 18-day event on GlobalCinema.online—the exclusive host of the Festival—for a multinational audience from 188 countries;
▪ Each selected film is introduced—with commentary and trailer—in the Daily Video Presentations broadcast on the channel during the event; the awarded films are also introduced, with their trailers, in the popular hour-long Awards Show.
▪ Each selected film is featured—with article and photos—in DARIA! magazine, which is the official media partner of the festival, provides complete coverage during the event, and is available on DariaMagazine.com;
▪ The selected films are also introduced in the dailies: e-Newsletters that are sent daily during the festival to the festival’s database of 30,000 contacts (international filmmakers, Hollywood studio executives, media, and the general public);
▪ The Festival is recognized by the IMDB and all the awards are listed and linked to the respective films’ and filmmakers’ profiles.
